Awards for Young Musicians

A charity that gives financial Awards to young musicians aged between 5 and 18 to help them progress on their musical journey and overcome any barriers they are facing. We support young instrumentalists, singers, composers and producers and want to hear from young people who are dedicated and driven, but might face barriers that will stop them progressing in the way that they would like. The funding can be used by the individual to purchase equipment, join an ensemble, see some live music, go to a studio - anything that helps them progress in their musical journey.

BBC Horizons Cymru

Horizons/ Gorwelion is a scheme delivered by BBC Cymru Wales in partnership with Arts Council Wales to develop new, independent contemporary music in Wales.

Ministry of Life

MOL Education is a community interest company that specialises in the delivery of music and media based qualifications in South Wales to young people between the ages of 16-25. We conduct and support live events all across the city of Cardiff and surrounding areas, including Cardiff Music Conference. We also run an artist development project called Levelz Up, which gives grants and mentoring to young musicians in South Wales.

Musicians Union

The Musicians' Union (MU) is the UK trade union for all musicians, representing over 32,000 musicians across the UK working in all sectors of the music business. As well as negotiating on behalf of members with all the major employers in the industry, we offer a range of support services for musicians, and we cover Wales and South West England from the regional office in Cardiff.

The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama provides specialist practical and performance-based training in music and drama, enabling students to enter and influence the world of music, theatre and related professions.

Sound Progression

Our work centres on empowering young people from diverse and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds; building their confidence, resilience and skills via open-access music provision led by industry professionals. We work at the grassroots in partnership with Cardiff Youth Service at eight community centres across Cardiff, delivering 80 hours of music studio sessions a week to support the creation and recording of original tracks.

Wrexham Sounds

Our mission is to transform disadvantaged young lives through music, helping children and young people build confidence, skills, and prospects.
